about

What is it all about?

OPTIMISM posters are not just inspirational pictures; they are designed to be tools for changing and improving the working environment.

Use the training material to get the added value these posters creates. Once you have given your symbolism to the picture your people see more than just the picture, they get your message.

Attitude

OPTIMISM has created original material to assist the trainer/facilitator to get understanding and buy-in/commitment.

The material is easy to use and can easily be adapted by the presenter to suit the required environment, industry, culture and level of understanding of the participants.

The prints are mostly photographs, with each image containing a message relevant to the subject, the image gets their attention and the message creates understanding and commitment.

The prints are all A2 size (594mm x 420mm) and supplied laminated and include concise training notes which includes a description of the image and the message it contains.
The training skeleton is then adapted by the presenter to meet the needs of the team and the subject being addressed, adding relevant examples.

The concepts and definitions addressed in the OPTIMISM programme are just as relevant in the boardroom as they are relevant in the classroom and workplace. The programme can be used effectively by the organisation's leaders to sell their vision and values to their teams.

A great deal of potentially good training is less effective due to the recipients/trainees not having the same definition for the key words and concepts. For example: Productivity is not massive output, but rather producing the required output at the required time and quality with minimum waste.

OPTIMISM bridges this gap.

How does it work?

The initial presentation of the print can be used to define the subject e.g.

QUALITY - what is quality?

  1. Quality work
  2. Quality relationships
  3. Quality environment

Once we have defined quality, when we want to address how we achieve Quality, we can start with the Quality print at the top of the pyramid and then build the pyramid using the blocks of a Quality initiative e.g.

Optimism Pyramid

The same can be done for other important criteria like:

The training can now be reinforced by displays in the workplace, thus bridging the gap between training and application in the workplace.

Because the initial presentation can be short and simple, they can be conducted in the workplace by the team-leader - on the job where you want it with minimum disruption.

By allowing the team leader to present to their team you reinforce their position and promote mentorship in your organisation. If they are talking to their team about quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, they will have to "walk the talk". You also get what you pay attention to. You are getting your leaders to address the important aspects of their job.

Momentum

In addition, if all the other division/departments do the same presentation each week, it will increase synergy and interdepartmental co-operation.
